Personal story: When I was in banking my ‘Inner Signal’ (-I called it ‘intuition’ at that time-) was the principle tool I used to make lending decisions.  Yes, I could gather lots of information about a customer but in the end, it was my ‘feeling’ about the proposal that led me.  If I had to justify my decision to a third party like Head Office it could become extremely difficult because ‘intuition’ was not a valid reason for lending in a 3D world that wants logical reasons!  However, I discovered in the course of my career that intuition is much more reliable indicator than logic!

IDENTITY — “Who I believe I am.”

  • Sets your standards, confidence, and direction.

SKILLS — “What I can do.”

  • Your abilities, knowledge, experience.

  • These change and improve with practice.

  • AI can help you learn skills faster than ever.

  • But skills are limited by identity.

Examples:
Writing, coding, design, communication, sales.

Skills are your tools —
but your identity decides whether you use them.

BEHAVIOUR — “What I actually do.”

  • Your habits, actions, and daily choices.

  • Driven by identity, supported by skills.

  • Behaviours change fastest when identity changes.

Examples:
Showing up consistently.
Finishing projects.
Taking risks.
Trying new things.
Asking for help.

Behaviour is the expression of identity in motion.

The Relationship (Simple Formula)

Identity → drives → Behaviour → uses → Skills → creates → Results

Most people try to fix their life by changing skills or behaviour.

But the real transformation happens at the identity level.

Because when identity shifts:

  • behaviours become natural

  • skills develop faster
